I never really thought about how logos can have such a drastic effect on how people view a company. This article was really interesting on how gap’s new logo casued a huge uproar
I thought this poster was great! It only used two colors yet it had such a stunning effect. I also thought this was a great use of font. They type doesn’t get lost in the poster and even offers some clarity to it. The contrast of white against the black and green make this simple font powerful. The site this picture links too has some amazing examples of posters that helped give me some inspiration for my project.
I knew I wanted to do a poster about a non-profit that deals with solving hunger. So when I came across Feed America I thought it was a perfect fit because of its simple message and really clean website. I wanted to try and replicate that simplicity in my poster. I chose a white poster because I wanted the type and images to stand out as much as possible.
I chose to use vegetables and fruit for the smiley face because it catches the viewer’s attention and also gets the theme of the non-profit across. I scanned in and cut out the images in Photoshop but used In Design for the rest because I wanted a really clear font. I stuck to Feeding America’s color scheme of green and orange for my font because I thought it made it look the most cohesive.
Down at the bottom, I separated the information to keep it from becoming overwhelming to the viewer. I made the word “action” orange for two reasons. I used it to connect the layers of the poster and also because I thought it embodied Feed America’s idea that single actions can make a huge difference.
While these resumes are not really appropriate for most jobs and wouldn’t get me a great grade on this project, they were really fun to look through and kept me from getting stuck in a creative lull. If nothing else they were both inspiring and fun so take a look.

This is an amazing website for those of you who have not heard of it! It’s always fresh, cleanly designed and easy to navigate. It’s great inspiration for all websites today because so many of them are overcrowded with useless content. This site sticks to the bare minimum without losing vibrancy or interest. Plus it’s just fun! http://foodporndaily.com/
