Inspiration: Minneapolis-St.Paul, my home
Fonts: Century Gothic for the easy read, Yellowjacket for the urban flare
Photos: Gorgeous photos by Dan Anderson and Geoff Myers of the city and music, chosen based on color and representation of Twin Cities culture
Content: Wiki article was the only thing readily available
Problems: Photos are not 150 dpi due to Flickr profile settings, but all were large, printed well and are phenomenal images
Story: Tried to portray the fun, eclectic nature of the two youth filled cities
Magazine: Tried to portray a magazine focused on unwrapping the secrets of locations, restaurants, tourist attractions, etc. all over the world
Ad: Used an advertisement focused on a local Twin Cities’ artist gone famous who came back to Minneapolis for a concert in 2008 as back cover (separate file to PDF)
If nothing else has taught you that anyone can learn to create beautiful Photoshop work, this will. My friend Peter Holme is a photographer who has been teaching himself Photoshop for the last two years. He is now 18 years old and can create the most beautifully Photoshopped images ever. They don’t even look like photography when he’s done… more like illustrations. His work is absolutely beautiful. Check him out.
