I find that when I design anything, I like to look through all sorts of examples and pull in elements of design from sites that inspire me… Check out the charity section – every layout on that website looks pretty professional to me, hopefully this can be a useful tool if you have designers-block!

Call of Action – Easy to spot. Direct users to your call of action.
Arrows are a great visualization of continuation… they are great for pointing out that links are going to show you more.
You can go over 600 pixels vertically on your site. But it is a good idea to put a photoshop guide line at 600 pixels down so you can design appropriately.
Helpful Hint: Change your ruler units to pixels. Use Image > Canvas size to expand after setting your guide at the bottom of the 600 long canvas.
I found this website during my geology class today. It shows some websites with really cool designs and layouts. It also describes the grid of the pages which is helpful and inspiring.
