It’s a pretty cool magazine cover that uses color to bring attention to the picture of
Steve Jobs but uses the strong white for the “iGod” to play off the simplistic function
and style of all the Apple products. I think its pretty effective. It was also one of the
top 10 magazines of 2007 voted by Time. Enjoy!
I’m a pretty big Boston sports fan, and my dad has just about every Sports Illustrated cover framed, so I immediately remembered this cover from 2004. The Red Sox had won their first World Series in a looong time and the whole team was given the title of “Sportsmen of the Year”. This cover is a compilation of pictures of “Red Sox Nation” from the whole season. I don’t even want to know how long it took to put together…

Communication Theory
Three Distinct Modes
Alpha Signal: Primary element
Para Signal: Supports the Message, ex, Red indicating urgency
Infra Signal: Below or within
Semiotics: THE POINT
SIGNS: stands for something else
Signified: concept or idea
and Signifier: item being “signified” via concept or idea
MetaSymbol: Historical Symbols
Side Notes:
Reinforce your brand. Keep your business cards and resume active.
Present yourself as yourself, not somebody else
Don’t mix cold and warm tones. Very difficult to pull off.
Best to use Vector for logos
Simple shapes are easy to move around and use in different ways
